Becoming a member

Sri Lanka – Thailand Business Council is established with the firm objectives to promote trade, tourism and services between the two countries and in particular to promote exports from Sri Lanka to Thailand. It also encourages Thai investments and the establishments of joint ventures in Sri Lanka between Thai and Sri Lankan Investors among many other productive developments and efforts. The membership is open to all individuals, partnerships, companies, corporations or other organizations engaged in trade, tourism or services with Thailand, or engaged in joint ventures with Thai Organizations or interested in entering into or promoting trade, tourism, services or joint ventures with Thai Organizations shall be eligible for membership of the Council. The representative of a member in the Council shall be the Proprietor, Partner, Director, and General Manager or such other approved by the Executive Committee of the Council. Membership Fees will be entrance fee and annual subscription of Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 3000/- respectively.

Associate Membership

This is open to all Thai companies or individuals meeting the above standards subjected to the payment of an entrance fee and annual subscription of Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 2000/- respectively.

Patrons

The Patrons of the Sri Lanka-Thailand Business Council shall be the Honorable Minister of Internal and International Trade, Commerce and Food of Sri Lanka, and His Excellency, The Ambassador of Thailand in Sri Lanka. In the event that either post is left vacant, or the designation is changed, the Patrons shall be the person drawn from the cabinet of Ministers of the Government of Sri Lanka responsible for trade with Thailand, and/or the most senior resident representative of the Kingdom of Thailand in Sri Lanka.

Honorary Membership

The Committee of the Council may invite at their discretion appropriate non-commercial authorities to be Honorary Members of the Council where they will not be required to pay any fee or subscription.
